ELECTRONICS

Each Verdick guitar comes equipped with a custom electronics package designed by our electronics expert Dr. Bill Copen. He uses an array of purpose-built testing equipment to hand-pick components that optimize not just the overall sound of the guitar, but the range of tones that can be achieved with each individual pickup configuration.
Conventional electric guitars use volume potentiometer, tone potentiometer, and tone capacitor values that are shared by all pickup combinations. For example, guitars with single-coil pickups typically use 250 kΩ potentiometers and a 0.047 µF tone capacitor, regardless of which pickup is active. In Verdick guitars, however, each available pickup combination has its own individually selected resistive load and tone capacitor values. The knobs and switches look and function just as they would on any other guitar, with no extra tricks to learn. But they control electronics that are voiced to bring out the best in every sound that the guitar can make, and to transform the passive tone control from a barely-usable, high-end-smashing sledgehammer into a more subtle, tone-sculpting instrument that introduces a range of new sonic possibilities.
